Hi, I’m Kate! I’m the resident creatrix here at Toha Studios. I mainly focus on tapestry weaving; but I also enjoy embroidery and watercolor painting. I love using beads, findings from nature, and other embellishments in my work . I view the art making process as a sacred experience that transcends beyond the physical. I am inspired by nature, spirituality, culture, psychology, time, place, and my own life experiences.
My background is in the healing arts. I have studied mysticism and spirituality for almost two decades. I graduated from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts with diplomas in integrative healing arts and spiritual studies in 2018. I’m a Reiki practitioner, energy worker, and ever curious human who finds the divine infinitely interesting. As someone who is also psychic and clairvoyant, I often see concepts and stories in the form of images; creating and writing gives me a (really fun) way to express this information. Art has been one of my greatest healers and the conduit for some of my most profound life experiences. I love exploring the intersection between creativity and spirituality.
Creating things is my favorite hobby, but it’s one of many! In my free time I also love to spend time in nature, reading, baking, and observing & enjoying the change of the seasons. I live in the Rocky Mountains with my husband, two children, dog, and eight (yes that many) cats and a various amount of foster kittens at any given time.
